Well, the answer is simple. You can get satisfaction from seeing yourself having a good penmanship. Aside from that is happiness, because you'll realize that you can improve your penmanship.

In my case, calligraphy makes me more productive. Like, creating this blog because I wanna share what calligraphy can do for me. For those who wants to quit their bad habit like smoking, drinking, going out frequently. Calligraphy will help you by getting your attention and time. While writing something that you like and you messed up. First thing that you'll do is write it again and again until you're satisfied. Now, it gets your attention and time and since that you're focusing on perfecting your artwork, you'll forget your bad habit. You will no longer think about smoking or drinking or go out and spend thousands of money that you saved or earned from working hard.

The photo above is the simple calligraphy kit that I have purchased from Scribe store located in the third floor of Eastwood Mall in Eastwood City, Libis.
This kit contains a simple manual, two nibs (Leonard 40 and Hiro 41), five sheets of ruled paper and a straight holder that cost me Php 300.00 pesos but you can get the same kit for just Php 250.00 pesos at Craft Central located in
Unit 306B, Henrys Building, 80 Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills, San Juan 1503.

Aside from the things mentioned above. Of course, you will be needing an ink and paper to start with.
As a suggestiom from my boss who's also into calligraphy. I need to have a sumi ink by Kuretake. As sumi ink is already thick and good for beginners.
I've got mine from the store in Eastwood Mall too for Php 400.00. The store for writing essential which is mentioned earlier "The Scribe".
This ink is also available at The Craft Central for just Php 399.75
But you can use any other ink that you like aside from sumi ink. You may want to start with india ink or you can use pearl pigment ink where you need to create your own consistency. All things that you need can purchase with The Craft Central at a very low cost.
