Calligraphy 101 (Part 1)

Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in Prof. Snape's class
Have you ever wondered how they can write on a parchment using ink in a bottle and a feather with or without a metal point? It is called CALLIGRAPHY.
Aren't you curious how it works? Have you ever think if you can also do it? If you have the same questions in your mind then you are reading the right article.

"Where do I start? Or how do I start?" Is a common question from anyone who wants to try something new. To answer that question. First, you need to find someone who's also into that activity or hobby or you can try to look for seminars or classes that you can avail for a small cost or if you don't want to spend money to learn something new then you can easily go Google and search. But, where do you or I start?

Here's how I started. Since I was a child I was always asking question how do they do that? I need a manual or something that I can read and follow or imitate. So when I started working in a BPO industry, me and my friends or workmates were eating somewhere cozy or somewhere "sosyal". Hahaha. Sometimes were just walking around the vicinity hoping that we might see something good to buy or something or someone that we can talk to.

Then I saw this store one time and was very fascinated because they are selling stuff for Calligraphy. The thing that I wanted to know more about. So, I started visiting the store by just looking around admiring rhe craftmanship of products. And that happened last 2013.

Just last year I found out that our boss and my ex classmate were doing Calligraphy. And one thing that I did first was asked them how to start and my ex-classmate told to buy the things that I need which is a Pen Holder, a Nib and an Ink. But what type of Pen Holder, Nib and Ink should I buy? So, I asked my boss about it. He recommended an Ink for begginers like me. Then, my friend told me to buy a starter kit which include a Pen Holder, a Nib and papers to write on. And so I bought one for just Php 300.00 and I was able to get a Pen Holder, 2 flexible pointed Nibs, Instructions for getting started and a 5 ruled sheets. I also bought the Ink that my boss recommended for me for just Php 400.00

Sorry the holder is kinda messy and the nibs are rusty
The recommended Ink for newbies
Okay, so here is the things that I've got from buying the starter kit my friend told me.

It got me really excited when I arrived home and tried to write something but I didn't know how to use the materials that I got. So I went on google and VIOLA!! I started writing in random words and sentences and because of that I didn't noticed the time had passed and I decided to stop my newly past time because its almost midnight.

And today, my day is no longer complete if I won't be able to write something in a paper or carton. I started writing anywhere.

Thanks for reading
Wait for the second part. :)
